Weekly Markets in Zug
On the Landsgemeindeplatz in Zug, shopping is a real experience. Here, various weekly markets are held, surrounded by historical buildings and directly next to Lake Zug.
The classic among them is the highly popular Zug Old Town Market, which takes place every Saturday. On sale are fresh vegetables from local farms, seasonal fruits, and cheese and flowers from the region.
Another highlight is the “Chriesimärt”, or cherry market. Zug is famous for its cherries, and the market – which is held from Monday to Friday over a period of three to five weeks in June, July or even August (depending on the ripening process) – attract a great many visitors.
